More Info:

This battery was used in the telecom industry and is replaced after a certain amount of hours used. The outside of the case says Panasonic, but there are Sanyo cells inside. They are the same company. The BMS is a tricky one, it has a built in power shutoff that is quite interesting. There is a thermal link that the BMS burns up to prevent use of the module after the BMS decides it’s time to be replaced. Can be easily bypassed of course, which makes these batteries a prime candidate for second life. We have not had any luck engaging the BMS, so it is sold as non functioning. The BMS is very easy to desolder and remove, you can also cut the voltage taps if you don’t have a soldering iron. The whole pack comes apart with a phillips screwdriver and a security T10 bit, long and narrow bit would make it easier. If you plan on removing cells, you will need a Security T9 bit as well.

We think the BMS may be slowly draining the batteries. We will check the voltages of the cells before sending them out, but if they are being discharged and you store them for a few weeks, you could have bad ones by the time you get to them. Please disassemble and disconnect the BMS once you get them to ensure your batteries dont go bad.

This module comes apart in two sections, 7s and 8s. The busbars are on philips screws for the two modules, splitting them apart is a matter of unscrewing screws.

We tested a module and got 38.6Ah.

I have now purchased 3 of these. As mentioned, they test out at 2.2AH during a 1 amp load test.
These are in a bunch of my kids and friends kids electric toys. The packs are simple to dismantle.
At 20 cents per cell, these cant be beat unless you need lots of AH. Building high voltage packs gets iffy as they take lots of space to get the capacity / discharge rate. These cells appear to be good for 2c discharge from testing. I do my pack calculations at 2.2AH and 5Amps per cell. Largest packs I have built with great success are 10s 11p for a 36V 24AH. Last project was a pair of 36v 500watt kids electric ATVs. Compared to using heavy 12 v 12 ah SLA batteries, the ride time is much longer due to reduced loads from the weight shed and increased capacity. Next project will be a 60V 2000 watt battery pack for an electric dirt bike. Will be a 16s 7p. I can make two 60v 15 AH battery packs good for ~ 2000 watts from a single $50 pack.

TLDR : These are great unless you need maximum AH/Amps in a limited space.

Great product for the money! Just be enlightened these cells are in fact sanyo 2.5 Ah cells BUT they are slightly used and now test at 2.2 Ah. Still the best deal I’ve seen on reputable cells.

Just as advertised. Thank you. Great communication. Will be back for sure.

I ordered the first battery skeptical because of dealing with other sketchy companies in the past.
This first battery and transaction was perfect by all means, above and beyond my expectations.
I ordered a second with the same experience.
This is my go-to company for all my battery needs going forward.

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Trusted by Hybrid & EV Owners Nationwide

Found them through internet search. Requested mobile installation. They called back within 2 hours to set up an appointment. Turns out they had a shop near me, which saved me 50% on installation cost. Took about an hour.

Prompt, quick, professional service. So much cheaper than getting another car. I would highly recommend their service to anyone who needs a hybrid battery replacement.

I was so grateful that my friend told me about this company. What I thought was going to be a $8,500.00 repair, as quoted to me by my regular auto shop, turned into a $2,400.00 repair. I will be forever grateful to Greentec EV & Hybrid Batteries. Thank you guys so much. Their customer service was excellent over the phone, and my experience with the technician that came to my home to do the repair was also excellent. I can’t thank you all enough. You really saved me!!

The hybrid battery on my Prius started dying and I managed to drive to the shop so I left it with them and told me they’ll finish it by tomorrow at 11am but they done it a lot earlier and faster than I expected. The car was running great again with the purchased of 12 month warranty remanufactured. I’m highly satisfied with the work they’ve done and I recommended them big time.
